When Emma Miller came to Kenyon from Shaker Heights, Ohio, she was certain (just like everyone else) she wanted to study English. After all, her first exposure to Kenyon was through the Young Writers program in high school. Yet, in what she calls "true liberal arts fashion," Emma tried courses in multiple departments before a theater directing class inspired her to major in drama. Now she is co-president of StageFemmes, a student theater organization showcasing the work and talents of women in the dramatic arts, and an assistant director for the Kenyon production of "Noises Off." This semester, Emma is studying off campus in Connecticut at the National Theater Institute, an intensive theater-training program for undergraduates.
