Alex Beckwith came to Kenyon from Midland, Michigan, to be challenged in the classroom as a mathematics major and in the pool as a member of Kenyon's swimming and diving team—the most successful athletic team in any NCAA division. Calling Kenyon "the perfect fit," Alex has excelled in both arenas. His junior year, he helped the Lords capture their 32nd national championship with strong showings in individual medley and breaststroke events. That same year, he scored an 18 (the average score is a zero) in the Putnam Competition, the most prestigious college-level math exam in the world. After graduation, he plans to continue studying math in graduate school. Until then, you'll see him enjoying his favorite spot on campus—Middle Path.
